In an effort to streamline the licensing process for KEYCREATOR Products, STS has developed this document in addition to the guide supplied with your KEYCREATOR system.
Obtain You License Online
Step 1: Login to Kubotekusa.com
Generating your permanent KEYCREATOR “license.lic” file
- Open your Internet Browser and goto www.kubotekusa.com
- On Kubotek’s home page, follow the Login link on the top right
- a login screen will appear
- Enter your KEYCREATOR Customer Account Number and Password
- If you have never accessed your KEYCREATOR account before, leave the Password field BLACK. Once you log-on to your online licensing details, follow the My Account -> Change my Password link and set a password for your account.
- If you have accessed your KEYCREATOR account before, then a password would have been set. Enter this password. If you have forgotten your password then click “Email Password” and it will be sent to the email address on file.
- If you still have issue with your Login, Please Contact STS for help.
- You will now be accessing your Online KEYCREATOR Account. Here you will be able to generate Permanent licenses, change your password, View Maintenance, etc. for your KEYCREATOR product.
Step 2: Assign Dongle to License
- Select Licenses on the left menu
- Click on the Select button under the Action Field
- You should see the License Detail Screen Appear as below.
- If your see the Key Details table, your license has already been assigned to a Dongle, the next Action will be Re-create License.
- Click on Assign New Key Button.
- Select the 4 hex-digit KEY ID(SIM, Dongle) Option
- Enter your 4 Digit SIM ID into the text field
- Optionally Give your Key a name (eg: drafting computer)
- Click the Assign Key ID Button
- If the screen prompt not available for commercial use Please contact STS for assistance.
Step 3: Generate your Permanent License
KeyCreator License file is backward compatible upto version 5.0 (eg. KC Version 7's License File will work on KC5.2.1 and 6.5.2 etc.). For other grandfathered version (such as CADKEY 19, Workshop 21 and KeyCreator 3) please Contact STS directly.
- Firstly, Check your License Email on the My Account Screen and make sure it's correct. Otherwise, Please Contact STS for a correction.
- Select Licenses on the left menu
- Click on the Select button under the Action Field
- Select Email License as shown below:
- STS recommended customer to use Email License Option.
- The License.lic file has been sent to your email address, It may take upto 48 hours to get to your mail box (Yes it does take a while sometimes and it is out of kubotekusa nor sts control).
Install your License file
Option 1:Copy-and-Paste
- Once you receive your license.lic file, you can simply paste the License file onto KeyCreator Directory:
- You may receive the file in different name eg AB01-License.lic, Please rename it to License.lic
- Go to C:\KeyCreator7.0 rename the existing License.lic file to something else eg. Old-License.lic
- Save the attached license.lic file to C:\KeyCreator7.0 directory.
- You may now able to run KeyCreator Start Menu => Programs => KeyCreator 7.0.1 => KeyCreator 7.0.1
Option 2: Licensing Wizard
Not Recommended - If you choice to use Licensing Wizard, you MUST follow the instruction below.
- Once you receive your license.lic file, you must run Kubotek Licensing Wizard to register KeyCreator:
- Start Menu => Programs => KeyCreator 7.0.1 => Register KeyCreator 7.0.1
- Select use an existing license file option
- DO NOT Use Other options as they are designed to use in the US not in AU and may lock up your KeyCreator
- Enter the location or Click ... button to locate the license.lic file you have receive on email
- Select your License Level Eg.SB:KeyCreator Standard Basic Translator
- When the wizard finish, You may able to run KeyCreator Start Menu => Programs => KeyCreator 7.0.1 => KeyCreator 7.0.1
